Monica Daniels is a Social Work Supervisor and City Council member. Born in Greenville, North Carolina, Monica spent her early years in New York City. In her early twenties she returned to North Carolina where she raised her children and began her career in the Human Services. Monica is a community advocate with a strong commitment to others that has been framed by her love of family and community.
Monica earned her Bachelor of Social Work from Barton College in Wilson, NC and a Master of Science in Human Services with a specialization in Social and Community Services from Capella University. Monica is also a certified Life Coach. She has been working in the field of Child Welfare for over fifteen years and is currently a Social Work Supervisor at the Pitt County Department of Social Services. Monica enjoys working with children and families and feels it is a privilege to assist families as they develop and grow.
Monica is a member of many organizations including NC Civil and the Mediation Center of Eastern, NC. She was recently appointed to the District 1 seat with the Greenville City Council where she proudly serves her community and its citizens. She is passionate about youth, paying it forward through hard work and dedication as well as being a voice for the voiceless.
Monica is the mother of five beautiful girls affectionately known at the Fabfive and the grandmother of three.
